The Great Hammer does not win by out-damaging people. It wins by catching them, stunning them, and doing it again before they can escape.
When to use it
- Solo PvP in the Mists
- Catching kiters who escape other melee builds
- Players who enjoy control over burst
Skills
- Q: Powerful Swing. Steady damage between catches.
- W: Slowing Charge. Closes the gap and slows the target.
- E: Tackle. Dashes through the target and stuns them. Your catch tool.
How to play it
- Close the distance with W and keep them slowed.
- Land E to stun them. Use the stun window to get damage in.
- Reset your position and catch them again when E comes back.
- Save the Armor of Valor for when they finally burst you.
Gear notes
- Mercenary Hood gives you a defensive window.
- Armor of Valor reduces incoming damage when it matters.
- Sandals of Purity cleanse control, so you cannot be kited easily.
- Smuggler Cape helps with resets.
- Deadwater Eel Stew adds movement speed for catches.
Tip
Do not use E to start every fight. Use it when the enemy has just used their escape. A stun on someone with no dash left is usually a kill.
